Labor and Employment Law Session Highlights HR in Hospitality Conference Cornell Center for Hospitality Research panel focuses on current critical hot topics in labor law The agenda will be determined on the spot by panelists and participants at a plenary session on "Hot Topics in Labor and Employment Law," at the April 2011 HR in Hospitality Conference. During the session, four attorneys who practice labor and employment law will focus on the critical issues for the hospitality industry, including discrimination, immigration policy, and retaliation. Three of the four panelists represent partners of the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research (CHR). Moderated by David Sherwyn, associate professor at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, the session will present the following labor law experts:
Earlier that day, before Hot Topics in Labor and Employment Law, the HR in Hospitality Conference will feature the Cornell HR Executive Summit, which is also driven by the critical human resources issues facing conference participants. In Part I of the summit, J. Bruce Tracey, associate professor of management at the School of Hotel Administration, will lead a discussion on human resources strategies. In Part II of the summit, Sherwyn will lead a discussion of current issues with employment law experts from the industry's leading organizations, including CHR partners Davis & Gilbert, Denihan Hospitality Group, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Fox Rothschild LLP, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Proskauer, and CHR friend, Wyndham Worldwide.
